ABOUT DR. COLE
Dr. Charles Cole, III stands as a beacon of resilience and empowerment, with a personal history of overcoming adversity that fuels his dedication to the advancement of Black males and broader community uplift. His first-hand experiences with homelessness and the educational system's failure to address the needs of vulnerable students led to his acclaimed publication, "Beyond Grit and Resilience," and a life devoted to educational and social reform.
Holding degrees from Cal State East Bay and San Francisco State University, Dr. Cole has channeled his expertise into roles ranging from social work to leadership positions in educational nonprofits, school districts, and community engagement. He founded Energy Convertors to activate agency in students and families, advocating for systemic change across the country.
In his consulting work, Dr. Cole empowers organizations to effectively engage with communities of color and drive strategic, actionable change. His efforts are not just professional but deeply personal, as he strives to leave a legacy of improvement and agency in the communities of his upbringing—Maywood, Paducah, and Oakland.
